"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV

When we are in Christ we become a new creation, regenerated being born again.  And this new creation is spiritually minded, whereas the old nature is carnally minded. 

The old nature is dead.  We are given a completely new and holy nature and an incorruptible life.  Our old life, previously dead to God because of sin, an is buried. Our new nature is in fellowship with God, obedient to His will and devoted to His service.
