Jesus knew his followers would face times of trouble in this world after his death on the cross.  He also knew that the victory over death would be won at the cross.

His direction was not to be troubled of the things of the world.  Keep our focus on Him and the things of above.  We have no further reason to fear when we trust in Christ Jesus.
