Before we go around boasting and trying to act like we are better than others let us look an Luke 14:11,  because doing such is in direct disobedience to God. 

God wants us to be like Jesus.  He did not boast.  He did not exalt Himself.  He humbled even to death.  That was what His father willed for Him.  And that is what God has willed for us too.  To die to self!
